Play a special role in the spectacular Olympic Torch celebration event to be held at Temple Newsam Park in June

As one of the elements of the free event to be held on Sunday 24 June to mark the iconic Olympic flame arriving in Leeds, the audience will be asked to take part in a mass-participation dance the scale of which has never been seen before in the city.

Register now to be one of the 1962 additional recruits needed to join 50 dancers from RJC Dance, Yorkshire Dance Youth, Northern School of Contemporary Dance and Phoenix Dance Theatre’s Youth Academy making a combined 2012-dancer performance, which the rest of the crowd will then be encouraged to repeat.

We would very much like some young people under 16 involved, if you run dance or youth group, and will take on responsibility for bringing them to a FREE workshop and to the event on the 24 June at Temple Newsam Park email info@leedstakepart.co.uk, to book onto a workshop. Please make sure you include all your contact details, so we can confirm you workshop with you. No previous dance experience is needed. The routine will also be accessible for wheelchair users and people with limited mobility.

At the event the volunteers will be positioned in front of the stage to join the 50 on-stage performers in leading the mass dance. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to be involved in this historic occasion. Secure your place and apply now at leedstakespart.co.uk.
